Position DefinitionProvide care and treatment for patients with respiratory and cardiac illnesses. Adhere to the assigned work schedule.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
- Set up and operate various respiratory care equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases and illnesses, working with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations.
- Operate Hamilton ventilators, Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) systems, and HiFlow devices.
- Utilize Epic as the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Perform 12-lead EKGs after hours and on weekends using MAC 15 carts.
- Attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries.
- Respond to all Code Blue, Rapid Response, Trauma, and Code Stroke calls.
- Provide support during ground transports for intubated patients, as needed.
- Core staffing consists of two therapists available 24/7/365.
- Prolonged standing or walking is required.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, or moving of equipment.
- Regularly lift heavy supplies weighing up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to infections and contagious diseases is possible.
- Regular exposure to blood borne pathogens.
- Potential exposure to hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids, and waste.
Required Qualifications:
- Current, unencumbered Oregon State Respiratory Care License.
- Minimum of an associate degree from a respiratory therapy education program supported or accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
- Current BLS, PALS, NRP and ACLS required at time of hire or completed within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
- Two years of clinical experience including all ages of patients preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
