The Rehabilitation Technician is an essential member of the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Rehabilitation Department. The position supports therapy staff, assists with the efficient operation of the department, and ensures therapy sessions run smoothly, equipment is maintained, and outstanding service is delivered to patients and families.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with positioning, transferring, and preparing for therapy sessions.
- Provide encouragement and support during therapy sessions.
- Set up therapy spaces and ensure equipment and supplies are ready.
- Clean and maintain therapy equipment, adhering to safety standards.
- Monitor and restock therapy supplies.
- Assist in scheduling therapy sessions.
- Maintain records of equipment usage and maintenance.
- Support documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Track and update authorizations and POC signatures.
- Communicate with therapy staff, patients, families, and team members.
- Orient new staff and provide basic instruction on procedures and equipment.
- Support quality improvement goals and participate in safety checks.
- Licensure as a Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Basic proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with residents, families, and team members.
