Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Tech ($20,000 bonus)

Salary and Benefits
- Base pay range: $41.14/hour – $63.40/hour (actual pay based on skills and experience)
- Sign‑on bonus: $20,000
- Schedule: Day shift, 40 hours per week. No call.

Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic procedures and scans (Detailed Anatomy, Multiples, Twin‑to‑Twin checks, fetal dopplers, etc.).
- Corroborate patient’s clinical history with the procedure, documenting and providing information to the licensed practitioner.
- Prepare patient for procedures, give instructions, and minimize anxiety.
- Select and operate ultrasound equipment and devices to achieve desired results.
- Position patient and equipment appropriately, ensuring comfort.
- Immobilize patients as required for examination.
- Determine ultrasonic frequencies and appropriate transducers.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
- Verify informed consent and assist with interventional procedures.
- Practice aseptic techniques as necessary.
- Attend to the physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures.
- Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media and/or medications as approved by the licensed practitioner.
- Initiate basic life support if needed.
- Maintain knowledge of universal precautions.
- Assist in maintaining records, respecting confidentiality.
- Report equipment malfunctions and assist with equipment purchase decisions.
- Provide instruction for students or other health care professionals.
- Participate in the department’s quality assessment and improvement plan.
- Help with inventory control and supply purchases.
- Use patient relation skills.
- Pursue continuing education to maintain license or certification.
- Accomplish other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a CAHEA‑accredited sonography program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (or equivalent) with current OB experience.
- Licensed in the State of Oregon as an Ultrasound Sonographer or Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer.
- MFM experience preferred.
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perceive sounds by ear, communicate orally, see visually, extend arms, grasp and manipulate objects, and perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Must lift up to 50 lb and frequently lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 25 lb.
