Loader Operative
Salary – £12.32 per hour
Hours – 40 hours per week.
Location –Hereford, HR2 8BH

As a Loader at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the collection and sorting of recyclable materials across East Lothian. You will work as part of a crew collecting a range of waste including food, glass, cans, plastic, and paper. This role also includes supporting depot operations such as cleaning vehicles and work spaces. Flexibility and a commitment to safety are key aspects of this role.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

• Collect and sort a variety of recyclable materials from households
• Operate equipment safely and follow instructions and training guidelines
• Load waste into vehicles and report any non-conforming materials
• Work courteously with residents and represent FCC Environment positively in the community
• Assist with cleaning the depot and vehicles as required
• Report any incidents or unsafe acts to management
• Wear and care for PPE provided and adhere to Health & Safety procedures
• Be prepared to work flexibly and take part in additional training when needed

• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
• Knowledge of the East Lothian area is advantageous
• Understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace
• A reliable, trustworthy, and courteous individual
• Able to follow clear instructions and use initiative
• Previous experience in waste management is desirable, but full training will be provided
• Willingness to wear PPE and undergo additional training
• Flexible attitude towards working additional hours when needed
