Customer Advisor – Building & Hardware / Seasonal & Outdoors Department

Part Time – 2 x 30 h / 1 x 24 h per week on building & hardware day; 2 x 30 h / 1 x 20 h per week on seasonal/outdoors day.

Shifts available – Monday – Sunday, 07:00 – 22:00.

UK notional hourly rate – £12.71 per hour.

Overview

Join our team and become an expert advisor. An inspiration and a guide. The person who knows every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, as will managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint‑mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on building, hardware and seasonal/outdoor products.
  • Drive sales and achieve sales targets.
  • Manage stock, set up displays and keep the store visually appealing.
  • Assist customers with paint‑mixing, timber cutting and other technical questions.
  • Use new technology to enhance customer service and optimise store operations.
Qualifications
  • Friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic about home improvement.
  • Great at working in a team and flexible to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
  • Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement.
  • Experience in sales or customer service desirable but not required.
