Estates & Maintenance Operative

Overview

Are you a hands-on individual with a knack for maintaining buildings and grounds? We're seeking a proactive individual to join our existing team of facilities and grounds staff at our Hereford Campus on Folly Lane. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our college facilities. From locking/unlocking buildings to minor repairs and groundskeeping, you'll ensure our campus runs smoothly.

This role offers variety, with tasks ranging from buildings maintenance and decorating to fire alarm testing.

• Practical skills in identifying and carrying out minor repairs.
• An understanding of basic health and safety.
• Self-motivated and organised, able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, friendly and approachable.
• Able to take pride in the appearance and condition of the site, both internally and externally, paying particular attention to the buildings and surrounding environment.
• Full UK, manual driving licence.

This is a full-time, permanent role of 37 hours per week, operating on a rolling three-week shift pattern alongside other Estates staff, currently:

• Week 1:
  Mon - Fri: 7:00am - 3:00pm
• Week 2:
  Mon - Fri: 8:00am - 4:00pm
• Week 3:
  Mon, Thu, Fri: 11:00am - 7:00pm;
  Tue, Wed: 2:00pm - 10:00pm
