Hereford Medical Group is pleased to be extending its access to its registered patients by offering additional appointments during weekday evenings (18:30 to 20:00) and Saturdays (09:00 to 17:00.)
We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our team and support the extended hours. Shifts would typically be 18:15 to 20:15 weekday evenings and 9:00 to 17:00 Saturdays.
Enhanced pay willapply with 1.5 x the agreed rate after 19:00hrs and for Saturday working.
There issome flexibility in how shifts can be arranged across the monthfor example,one or two Saturdays or a small number of evening shiftsbut applicants shouldbe able to commit to a regular schedule.
You will be working as partof a small, supportive team delivering services from our purpose-built site, with guidance from a dedicated service lead.

Main duties of the jobThe role includes delivering a wide range of clinical and patient support activities such as undertaking new patient health checks, phlebotomy, ECGs, spirometry, immunisations (including flu and B12), and routine monitoring such as hypertension and general health checks. Duties also involve chaperoning, processing laboratory samples, maintaining and preparing clinical equipment and consulting rooms, supporting minor procedures, and ensuring safe vaccine and stock management.
The postholder is responsible for maintaining high standards of infection control, adhering to confidentiality requirements, supporting patient wellbeing, collecting clinical data, and contributing to quality, communication, and service improvement across the team.

Job responsibilitiesThis role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in delivering high quality patient care within our Extended Access service. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support our clinical team by carrying out a variety of hands on duties from health checks and observations to assisting with clinical procedures and maintaining a safe, well prepared environment for patients and staff.
You will be an essential and valued member of the team, helping ensure patients receive professional, compassionate care during our extended hours.
- Care Certificate or a Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Healthcare or a Foundation degree Modules
- Safeguarding adult and children
- Phlebotomy skills and experience
