Introduction

We are seeking a Telecare & Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Service Officer to join our Independent Living Services team. In this role, you will help adults live safely and independently by supporting the delivery of personalised telecare and assistive technology solutions. You’ll work closely with colleagues, service users, carers, and partner agencies to ensure equipment and support are delivered efficiently and effectively.

The Role

We are seeking a committed and detail-oriented Telecare & Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Service Officer to join our Independent Living Services (ILS) team. In this key operational role, you will support the delivery of outcome-led personalised telecare and TEC solutions that enable adults to live independently for as long as possible. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists, Assessment & Enablement Officers, and external partners to ensure residents receive safe, personalised, and high-quality services.

As a Telecare & TEC Service Officer, you will:

  • Support the planning, administration, and delivery of telecare and TEC services in line with individual OT/AEO assessments.
  • Undertake financial, clerical, and administrative tasks, including equipment requisitions, purchase orders, and data entry across relevant IT systems.
  • Assist with service performance reporting, including collating and maintaining accurate service user data, financial transactions, and equipment monitoring.
  • Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure an integrated service that meets current and future needs.
  • Promote user choice and participation, supporting service users and carers to achieve outcome-led, personalised goals.

Respond to changing service requirements while adhering to statutory frameworks such as the Care Act 2014.

Key Relationships

Internal: Independent Living Services colleagues including telecare staff, OTs, senior telecare advisors, assessment & enablement officers, social care teams, finance & revenues teams, commissioners, brokers, home improvement agency staff, practice standards leads, and managers.
External: Service users and their carers/families, community equipment store managers, TEC suppliers and specialists, housing providers, NHS colleagues (including Wye Valley Health Trust), statutory and voluntary agencies, and members of the public.

Main Purpose of the Job

To provide administrative and operational support for telecare and TEC-enabled services to enable adults to live as independently as possible. This includes:

  • Supporting the delivery of personalised telecare and TEC solutions.
  • Managing equipment requisitions, orders, and financial records.
  • Liaising with internal and external partners to ensure integrated and high-quality service delivery.
  • Supporting the Senior Practitioner/Line Manager in operational design, development, and delivery of telecare services.
Main Responsibilities
  • Process telecare and TEC equipment orders and manage communications with providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of service users, equipment, and service delivery data.
  • Conduct regular telephone service reviews and allocate complex cases appropriately.
  • Provide guidance and support to service users and carers on equipment use and maintenance.
  • Contribute to performance reporting, service evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote safeguarding and welfare of service users in line with legislation and policy.
  • Work flexibly and respond to changing service requirements while adhering to statutory frameworks.
