IntroductionWe have an exciting opportunity for a highways engineer to join Herefordshire’s Infrastructure Delivery Team. Forming part of the Economy and Environment department, the Infrastructure Delivery Team is a multi‑skilled engineering, design and project management team focused on the delivery of highways and transport projects.
The RoleAs the S106 Highways Engineer you will be responsible for working with local parish and town councils to develop and plan S106 highway works. You will also be responsible for project managing these works from commissioning and overseeing the detailed design through to procuring the contractor and supervising delivery on site. It’s a challenging but fulfilling role in that you will not only be managing the stakeholder involvement and expectations but also the design consultants and contractors delivering the works on the ground.
AboutYou
The successful applicant will hold at least an HNC or HND in civil engineering with significant experience in the development and delivery of minor traffic calming schemes and other highway infrastructure works. You must have demonstratable achievements in public sector development, design, procurement and delivery of highway projects.
