ENT Specialty Doctor

Role Overview

The appointed doctor will work in outpatient clinics for both elective and emergency patients, as well as assisting in theatre. The role will involve reviewing routine ENT referrals under the guidance of a consultant. Timetabled and dedicated time for administrative tasks and continuing professional development are included in the job plan. Time will be spent in theatre developing surgical skills, we would expect the appointed doctor to work towards competence in core elective and emergency ENT surgical procedures (E.g. tonsillectomy, grommet insertion, pharyngolaryngoscopy and foreign body removal).

Wye Valley NHS Trust is a member of an NHS Foundation Group with South Warwickshire NHS FT, the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Located on the border with Wales in the shadow of the Black Mountains, we provide acute and community services across Herefordshire and into parts of Powys and run Hereford County Hospital and the community hospitals in Bromyard, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.

Worcestershire is our neighbouring county. The post holder will be required to travel between sites.
