Overview
As a Regional Supplier Quality Manager
, you will play a key leadership role overseeing supplier quality and compliance activities across the region. Your day involves collaborating with a team of Supplier Quality Engineers to drive performance at critical suppliers, ensuring raw materials and semi-finished goods meet quality and regulatory standards. You will act as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders on supplier-related quality issues, lead supplier qualification and onboarding efforts, and manage risk through programs like the Supplier Risk Assessment Program (SRAP).
Continuous improvement is central to the role, with activities including reviewing defect trends, overseeing audits, and executing mitigation plans to reduce supply chain risk. The role also demands cross-functional engagement, clear communication, and strategic thinking to support manufacturing and operational goals.
- By leading audits, managing supplier qualifications, and ensuring ongoing adherence to regulations, the candidate ensures a reliable and compliant supply base that meets quality expectations.
- Through proactive execution of the Supplier Risk Assessment Program (SRAP), the candidate identifies and addresses potential risks in the supply chain, safeguarding business continuity and product availability.
- The candidate investigates supplier quality issues, analyzes defect trends, and implements data-driven solutions to reduce nonconformances and improve supplier capabilities.
- As the voice of supplier quality in the region, the candidate aligns quality priorities with procurement, manufacturing, and global quality teams, influencing regional decision-making and supporting business goals.
- Managing and mentoring a geographically dispersed team of Supplier Quality Engineers, the candidate ensures consistent execution of quality programs while fostering professional development and engagement.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management, with a preference for an advanced degree (MS), equips the candidate with technical and strategic knowledge.
- Over 8 years of experience in supply/value chain management, quality, compliance, and regulatory environments—ideally within medical devices, life sciences, or biotech—enables the candidate to navigate complex, regulated supply chains.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team or project, with 0–3 years of people management experience and a proven record of executing quality initiatives with cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of FDA and ISO 13485 standards, along with experience in supplier audits, onboarding, and compliance activities (e.g., RoHS, REACH), ensures effective governance across the supply base.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented:
Skilled in identifying trends and driving root cause analysis to resolve quality issues. - Strong Communicator:
Capable of influencing stakeholders across all levels and functions. - Results-Driven:
Proven ability to lead initiatives that improve quality, reduce cost, and mitigate risk. - Process-Focused:
Experienced in developing and improving quality procedures and documentation. - Globally Minded:
Comfortable managing suppliers across regions and cultures, with ERP (SAP).
