Overview

We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Huntercombe, a Category C men’s prison. Join a team that is more than just a group of colleagues – we work Monday to Sunday as a supportive and driven family, working together to create a safe and nurturing environment.

HMP Huntercombe runs like a self‑contained city; it takes hundreds of people to keep it functioning. As an Electrician you will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues from a range of trades – plumbers, other electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators – all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe and secure environment for all.

Qualifications
  • Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S), e.g. 2367 or 2357
  • Two years’ experience working as a fully qualified electrician
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills
