Registered Nurse (RN), Cardiology Med Surg – Cardiac Med/Surg Nurse Manager
Job SummaryThe Cardiac/Cardiovascular Medical Surgical Nurse Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Manage staffing needs – interview, hire, and train new staff members.
- Oversee care of patients on unit, providing consistent support and expertise.
- Maintain overall workflow of unit by ensuring proper staff levels.
- Coordinate all unit activities including safety procedures, unit goals, and department operations.
- Handle patient, visitor, or physician complaints promptly and professionally.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and counseling to department employees.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to improve patient care delivery.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required;
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. - Current RN license in Tennessee or compact state required.
- Minimum 1 year Med/Surg or related clinical experience.
- Prior related clinical leadership experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
