The Fitness Manager (FM) is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience, both personally and through Coach supervision. FM’s are responsible for delivering great member service and private training & supplement revenue. As needed, they address member issues, employee relations issues, and oversee scheduling and time‑keeping activities. On a regular basis, they communicate and enforce Company and Club policies and procedures.
FM’s are responsible for the successful attainment of revenue goals pertaining to private training and supplements.
- Staffing and Development – Recruit, hire, train and develop a strong team of coaches and potential leaders; maintain a fully engaged and high performing Personal Training/MMA team that aligns with company values and goals.
- Club Administration – Ensure coaches are productive, revenue and service goals are communicated, and that the Club remains on track to attain financial objectives. Set monthly, weekly and daily goals; conduct meetings with coaches to review performance, offer direction, motivation and guidance.
- Member Service – Provide club tours, explain services, enroll members in training agreements and appointments, and mediate complaints in a timely manner.
- Administrative and Housekeeping – Conduct facility walk‑throughs, alert staff of repairs and maintenance, and perform compliance checks.
- Sales and Training – Work the floor to encourage private training, administer client programs and supplement purchases, schedule and host training appointments, and assist in revenue‑generating activities such as seminars.
- Sell training sessions, execute prospecting strategies, and manage staff sales during turnover.
- Review sales performance with VP and staff to identify improvement opportunities.
- Administer company policies related to sales, schedule and deliver client appointments, coordinate sessions, and maintain up‑to‑date scheduling records.
- Manage self‑directed appointment setting, follow‑ups, and rescheduling.
The Fitness Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Fitness and is the primary liaison between the Fitness Team and all club members and employees.
Required Qualifications- Knowledge and Skills – In‑depth knowledge of Personal Training techniques from assessment to program design; working knowledge of the DotFIT program and software; strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, enthusiastic, positive attitude; strong customer service focus; organizational and record‑keeping skills.
- Computer Competency – Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Certifications – Minimum one certification recognized by UFC Gym and current CPR/AED certification.
- Education – High school diploma or GED; four‑year degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience – Minimum one year of related experience; experience in management/employee relations preferred.
- Physical Requirements – Ability to stand for the duration of the shift, lift up to 45+ lbs, and perform squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, prolonged standing and walking.
