The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined at all work locations, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation.
The Retail Associate is expected to participate in these tasks as assigned during all work hours and is expected to perform a variety of duties in all areas of the store as required by business needs. The Associate may be asked to perform additional duties in specific situations if performing these duties will help achieve our operational and customer service goals.
FUNCTIONS
- Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything you do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment for everyone. Keeps exits free of obstructions and clear to emergency exits. Immediately corrects or reports any unsafe conditions or practices to store leadership.
- Treat all Clients and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times. Recognize fellow Associates through the use of Company recognition programs.
- Assist customers in any way necessary: be trained at the register, help customers with merchandise, and answer customer questions politely and knowledgeably. Greet all customers by making eye contact, smiling, and saying "hello" throughout the store, as well as saying "thank you" at every register transaction.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers at all times. Answers customer service calls immediately. Handles all customer issues courteously and helpfully, and calls a store leadership member when necessary.
- Represent and support the Company's brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, wiping, cleaning counters and mirrors, restocking restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas, including the customer service area, sales floor, and restrooms to help maintain merchandise, customer areas, and equipment.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping down counters and mirrors, and restocking restroom supplies to help maintain merchandise, customer, and equipment areas.
- Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery according to company best practices to ensure a tidy, clean, and organized store that is well-maintained and efficiently marketed to standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise receipts to the sales floor with a sense of urgency, market all items according to company best practices based on monthly presentation guidelines, and maintain merchandise/brand familiarity within departments to assist customers.
- It includes the loss prevention awareness program, the shortage route, the Store Protection Specialist (SPS) position (where applicable), and merchandise protection standards.
- As a representative of Ross Inc., you demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions with Associates and Customers. You protect confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow all Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, including identifying MOS merchandise, properly processing each item, and notifying Store leadership to review and approve all removals.
- Follows all policies and procedures related to cash, check, payment card transactions and refunds, voids, and offline procedures. Maintains a high level of awareness and accuracy when handling bank tenders.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency to perform their role efficiently. Maximizes productivity by implementing all Store best practices and minimizing steps and touches in their workflow.
