Overview
Hendersonville Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinarian. We offer up to a $30k Sign-on Bonus as part of Heartland Veterinary Partners. The practice has served the community since the 1960s and recently moved into a brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art facility. The 5,000 square foot building includes 8 exam rooms and a dual dental suite, with upgraded x-ray equipment, a laser surgical unit, AAHA accreditation since 2001, and a modern in‑house laboratory (Heska benchtop serum chemical analyzers, a fecal centrifuge, EKG, blood pressure, and more).
Position
Purpose:
We are eager to add another veterinarian to our team. We are located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina and have been AAHA accredited since 2001, recognized for the highest level of veterinary care for over two decades. Our current doctors have tremendous skill in surgery, dentistry, diagnostic evaluation, and wellness/preventative care.
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
