Maintenance Caseworker III - Long Term Care

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will apply Long Term Care Medicaid knowledge to the intake and maintenance functions of the program in an accurate and timely manner; performs an extensive amount of financial verifications and must utilize in depth Medicaid program abilities in order to do so accurately; responsible for communicating very complex program guidelines to representatives of potential and current long term care recipients in an informative but investigative manner;

calculate confusing financial representations and document them in such a way as to support the eligibility decision; regularly communicates with outside agencies, facilities, financial institutions, attorneys, paralegals, representatives which requires an ability to understand the program point needing to be verified and what suffices as verification; responsible for acquiring exceptional expertise in the Medicaid Long Term Care program. This position will interview/communicate with clients/representatives by phone, internet, mail, and fax and in person to secure information required to correctly determine eligibility.

Thorough knowledge of the program/areas of assignment. Considerable knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant. Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures of varying complexity; ability to work independently and prioritize work; ability to instruct and evaluate the work of lower level employees; ability to train employees in new and existing rules, regulations, policies and procedures;

ability to understand the needs and problems of clients/applicants; ability to perform caseworker functions under and within structured time frames. This position requires advanced interviewing and communication skills as well as a complete understanding and demonstrated ability in NCFAST and the Federal Marketplace; reasoning skills for correct assessment of client situations; must have strong organizational skills that are reflected in the position’s task management.

Requires extensive experience in Windows environment.

Must have two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker.

Salary Range: $22.01 - $39.26 per hour Pay Grade: 70A

Hiring salary will be determined based on qualifications and internal equity.
