Armed Security Officer

The Armed Security Officer provides a visible security presence and supports a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors within assigned healthcare facilities. Responsibilities include conducting patrols, responding to emergency situations, preparing reports, and supporting compliance with applicable laws and safety policies.

7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

• Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas.
• Respond to emergency codes and security incidents.
• Prepare clear, factual incident reports.
• Assist staff with de-escalation and safety interventions when necessary.
• Monitor surveillance and communication systems.
• Enforce facility access and parking policies.
• Report hazards and security concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This role may involve:

• Extended periods of standing and walking
• Responding to emergency or high-stress situations
• Outdoor patrol in varying weather conditions
• Occasional lifting or physical intervention when required for safety

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Two (2) years of armed security experience preferred.
• Military, law enforcement, or healthcare security experience preferred.

• Valid driver’s license where driving is a required duty.
• Active state armed security license prior to carrying a weapon, where applicable.
• Required firearms and defensive tactics certifications prior to armed assignment.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
• Verbal de-escalation training within 60 days of hire.

Where permitted by law and relevant to the role, post-offer background checks, psychological evaluations, and drug screenings may be conducted in compliance with applicable regulations.

Driving eligibility will be evaluated based on job-related safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
