We seek a highly motivated, experienced Controller to be based at our Henderson, Texas sawmill. The Controller, reporting to the Mill Manager and indirectly to the Regional Finance Accountant, is a key part of plant management providing analytical support for all financial decisions.
- Responsible for managing site month end close and reporting, all reconciliations and account analysis.
- Responsible for ensuring site inventory counts are being performed and variances explained.
- Responsible for completing weekly/monthly/annual forecasts for the site and corporate FP&A.
- Responsible for completing weekly cost & other ad hoc analysis to assist the site in meeting its cost targets.
- Responsible for adhering compliance with current internal controls
- Support the General Manager in enforcing site and company policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external testing as required
- Support West Fraser centralized or site accounts payable, payroll and fiber procurement and as needed, residuals processes.
- Drive operational and finance process improvement at the mill
- 4-year degree, in Business, Accounting or Finance. CPA designation or working towards one preferred.
- Related work experience of 3-5 years is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Flexible, detail-oriented, accurate, able to prioritize and meet deadlines. Results oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Supervisory Experience preferred.
- Ability to forge working relationships at all levels in an organization.
- Experience with Sarbanes Oxley controls preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Oracle financial systems preferred and must be proficient in MS Office
