Dad Program Specialist

Overview

Compensation Hourly: $30.00/hour; 15-20 hours/week. This position is Part-time and does not offer benefits.

• Program Planning and Implementation
  :
  • Coordinate and schedule 24/7 Dad group sessions (typically 12-week cycles, 2 hours per session, using AM and/or PM editions).
  • Ensure program delivery adheres to NFI guidelines for fidelity and effectiveness.
  • Adapt sessions as needed for specific populations (e.g., faith-based, community-based, settings, or virtual formats).
• Facilitation and Group Leadership
  :
  • Facilitate interactive group workshops covering topics such as self-awareness, self-care, fathering skills, relationship skills, child discipline, work-family balance, and the five characteristics of a 24/7 Dad.
  • Create a supportive, strengths-based environment that encourages participant sharing, healing, hope, and skill-building.
• Recruitment and Retention
  :
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to recruit fathers through community partnerships, events, referrals, social media, and agencies (e.g., child welfare, courts, and employment services).
  • Address barriers to participation by offering incentives, transportation support, child care, or flexible scheduling.
  • Track attendance and implement retention strategies to ensure high completion rates.
• Participant Support and Case Management
  :
  • Provide individualized support, referrals to community resources (e.g., job training, housing, legal aid, co-parenting services).
  • Conduct intake assessments, goal-setting, and follow-up to measure participant progress.
  • Collaborate with co-parents/mothers where appropriate to promote whole-family involvement.
• Evaluation and Reporting
  :
  • Collect and analyze pre/post-program data using NFI tools (e.g., Fathering Survey) to evaluate outcomes like improved knowledge, attitudes, and skills.
  • Prepare reports for funders, stakeholders, and internal use, demonstrating program impact.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with grant requirements and confidentiality standards.
• Community Partnerships and Training
  :
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, agencies, and stakeholders to support program sustainability.
  • Stay current on NFI updates by completing required facilitator training (e.g., on-demand or webinar-based) and pursuing ongoing professional development.
• Other Duties
  :
  • Assist with program budgeting, resource ordering (e.g., NFI curricula kits), and event coordination (e.g., graduations, father-child activities).
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed.

Required
:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, education, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2 years of experience in program coordination, group facilitation, case management, or working with fathers/families in community or social service settings.
• Certification (or willingness to obtain) as a 24/7 Dad facilitator through National Fatherhood Initiative training.
• Strong understanding of fatherhood issues, including barriers faced by low-income, non-resident, or justice-involved dads.
• Excellent group facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse groups (all races, backgrounds, and demographics).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.

Preferred
:

• Personal experience as a father or lived experience relevant to program participants.
• Experience with evidence-based curricula and grant-funded programs.
• Knowledge of local community resources for employment, education, and family support.
• Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) a plus.

• Empathetic, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive approach.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed for sessions.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
