The Onsite Production Manager will plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor multi‑shift production teams, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance while keeping safe practices first.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards, compliance, and safety protocols across all manufacturing processes in an ISO compliant environment.
- Ensure operational efficiency by managing workflows, staffing, scheduling, and productivity metrics while being proactive and reactive to changes as needed daily.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying bottlenecks and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. Additionally, be a champion of lean processes and lean thinking in all daily activities.
- Is responsible for production performance across all shifts.
- Ensures that shop floor performance meets company expectation with regards to safety, production output levels, scrap levels, expense budgets, quality levels – PPM performance, impacts to gross margin performance and labor budgets.
- Ensures shop floor disciplines and programs are implemented, controlled, and maintained to achieve expected operational metric and enhance efficiency.
- Ensures that the facility maintains correct inventory trends to meet customer sales projections and any pre‑build quantities.
- Works closely with Material Management in execution of production schedules and maintains ability to react to changes in weekly production requirements.
- Ensures training programs for shop floor personnel are executed to proper level. Makes recommendations concerning required education/training necessary for operators.
- Is involved with maintenance projects and priorities to ensure machine set‑up and plant maintenance is adequate to performance expectation.
- Is responsible for meeting all customer ship schedules on time and with expected quality levels.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Has excellent communication, technical expertise, leadership, problem‑solving, and superior analytical skills.
- Is fully skilled in verbal and written English.
- Is able to lead a team and deal separately with specific tasks according to the assignment program.
- Combines conceptual capabilities with a hands‑on attitude.
- Is able to lead and/or mentor people to success while holding them accountable for results.
Reports to Plant Manager.
Qualifications, Experience requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent on-the‑job experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on fabrication, production, maintenance, or logistics.
- Experience in lean manufacturing principles and practices, with optional training in Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for data analysis, communication, and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor supervisors and team leads for continuous improvement.
- Basic understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and practices.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive results, manage resources effectively, and foster a collaborative work environment.
