Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Henderson, North Carolina. For more information, call Dominique or text "Henderson T3" at 904‑541‑9562.
Benefits- Hourly Pay: $29.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, Second Shift 3:30 pm – 12:00 am

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including:
- Standard and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and assign tasks
- Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
- SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
220) - Complete 2 OEM on‑line diagnostic scan‑tool software courses within 365 days
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs of AC and electrical systems (required)
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)
- All other certification required by location (required)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience with heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment repairs and diagnostics
- Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
