Reports to: C-Store Manager

Location: Henderson, NC (Store 5529, 5050 Hwy. 56 West, 11210 Patterson Ave Unit 29)

Job Summary

The C‑Store Assistant Managers are directly responsible to aid and assist the Manager with maintaining an efficient and proper operation within Company policy in such a manner as to ensure that the store contributes to maximum revenue generation, customer satisfaction, expense control and profitability. The Assistant Manager also assists with recruiting, training, developing, and retaining quality employees to ensure a clean, sanitary, well‑stocked, and ready-to‑serve store at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report to work and work the shift hours assigned and approved by the Store Manager, including at least two nights per week.
  • Report to work in proper uniform with name and badge attached.
  • Perform all general shift duties as trained and complete all specific tasks assigned by the Area Manager.
  • Operate the shift within Company Guidelines.
  • Adhere to all city, county and state beverage laws.
  • Provide each customer with prompt and courteous service.
  • Direct and assist store staff in all tasks necessary to maintain sanitary and housekeeping standards achieving a monthly store inspection grade of at least 90%.
  • Complete RTO Training as required.
  • Perform cleaning duties for customer readiness, restrooms, parking lot, trashcans, fuel islands, rugs, windows & doors, transaction counter, sidewalk entrance, fountain area, and stock areas (front face merchandise, floors, stock fountain, deli case, cooler & freezer, shelves, merchandise placement on sales counter, checklist for out‑of‑date merchandise).
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures.
  • Account for conducting accurate and timely bank deposits.
Working Environment and

Physical Requirements
  • Physically fit to stand during entire shift.
  • Able to work in a cooler at 35°F for up to 30 minutes.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Visual acuity required for identification and money order processing.
  • Must tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products.
  • Ability to climb a ladder to clean windows.
  • Can react to a fire by using a 30‑lb fire extinguisher.
  • Basic mathematics at the eighth‑grade level.
  • Speak, read, and write English; communicate with customers in English.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Work Week Requirements
  • Assistant managers are hourly employees expected to work the required days and hours to meet job requirements, including weekends when Managers are off.
  • Assuming performance expectations are met, the typical 5‑day week (with possible weekend work) is the norm. If staffing or performance goals are not met, a minimum of six days of work may be required until expectations are met.
