Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Clinical Coordinator‑Enterostomy is a Registered Nurse with special education in the care of individuals with wounds, ostomies, pressure ulcers and related skin problems. The principal role is to assist the medical staff and patient‑care team in achieving the best possible outcome for the patient. Primary expertise is in wound, ostomy, and continence management. The coordinator provides direction and coordination for a specific patient population ranging from premature infants to geriatric patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems such as complex wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, incontinence, or potential skin breakdown appropriate to the patient’s age.
The Clinical Coordinator collaborates with other health‑care team members to ensure continuity of care during rehabilitation. This position reports to the CNE or designee.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience.
- 1 year (within the last 5 years) recent wound care (ET) experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a health‑related area, or current enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE that allows completion within three years.
- Good assessment, teaching, communicative (verbal, nonverbal, and written) and presentation skills and the ability to function effectively in stressful or crisis situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Applies nursing and team process skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Neat handwriting, printing and documentation skills.
- Must be willing to flex schedule to include some evening, night, and weekend hours as needed.
- Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- RN license from the NV State Nursing Board.
- CT CPRBLS – Basic Life Support – AHA.
- MSN desired.
- CT CWOCN – Current Board Certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing desired.
