Description

Job Summary:

The Facility Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating assigned work orders, providing project oversight from planning through completion. This role oversees shop resources, materials, and staffing; assigns and directs employees to ensure work is completed in accordance with established standards, quality expectations, and timelines. The Facility Manager proactively communicates project status, issues, and potential delays to senior management, and collaborates across teams to resolve challenges, minimize errors, and ensure on‑time delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Job Duties:
  • Adhere to the company’s Vision and Core Values.
  • Adhere and comply with the company’s handbook and company policies.
  • Keep shop, parts, and operations at capacity; manage day‑to‑day staffing, equipment, and materials to promote maximum asset utilization.
  • Schedule and dispatch technicians to ensure smooth and timely work progression.
  • Hire, develop, and retain shop and parts employees and techs:
  • Oversee and mentor new employee training.
  • Direct, monitor, and guide employee performance, coach, and discipline as necessary.
  • Provide technical support and training for difficult and specialized repairs.
  • Monitor output and confirm work meets quality, safety, and customer standards.
  • Audit and sign off on completed work and confirm project paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Oversee all repairs/work of all equipment, verify all work and changes are approved, and notify departments and customers of work delays, changes, or completion.
  • Provide continuous communication throughout the shop and support for ongoing work and projects.
  • Consult on an ongoing and frequent basis with sales, parts, and customer service regarding work estimates, materials, and project status.
  • Proactively participate in identifying and preventing safety issues. Have an understanding and follow all company safety policies and training as assigned.
  • Initiate and lead continuous process improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Service and maintain equipment and ensure good working conditions.
  • May make off‑site customer service calls on a limited basis.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shop environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Qualifications/Preference:

Education:

HS diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:
  • 5 years’ mechanical, and/or production/fabrication experience preferred.
  • 3 years’ supervisory/management experience preferred.
Certificate, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Current Driver’s License required.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English required.
  • Excellent project management skills; planning and assigning work and meeting aggressive deadlines without compromising quality or efficiency.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and provide follow‑through on training and projects.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Experience preparing, assigning, and auditing work orders.
  • Experience using MS Office and related software applications.
  • Experience reading and working with blueprints and using various measuring devices
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, petroleum fumes and/or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, chemicals, and outside weather conditions. May work in confined spaces and be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
