Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Technology to lead our technical operations and drive innovation in our video surveillance ecosystem. This role reports directly to the executive leadership and involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, and cloud services. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands‑on technical expertise, capable of managing teams and aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and deployment of AWS cloud scripts, managing scalable infrastructure for video processing and storage.
- Oversee server management, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
- Evaluate and implement server hardware solutions, focusing on heat ratings, memory allocation, CPU/GPU utilization, and overall system efficiency.
- Design and maintain robust networking architectures, ensuring secure and efficient data transmission for surveillance feeds.
- Champion cybersecurity protocols, conducting risk assessments, implementing protective measures, and responding to potential threats.
- Ensure compliance with SOC 2 standards, utilizing tools like Vanta for streamlined management and auditing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate emerging technologies such as AI‑driven video analytics, edge computing, and IoT devices.
- Manage a team of IT professionals, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and professional growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute technology roadmaps, budgeting for hardware/software needs, and forecasting future requirements.
- Monitor system performance metrics, implement disaster recovery plans, and conduct regular security audits.
- Stay abreast of industry trends in video surveillance, cloud computing, and cybersecurity to recommend innovative solutions.
- Schedule is from 8AM — 5PM M‑F with on‑call for emergencies and escalated events 24/7.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - 10+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, preferably in a technology‑driven industry like security or surveillance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Linux systems, including advanced terminal commands for administration and scripting.
- Proven expertise in AWS cloud management, including script automation, deployment pipelines (e.g., CI/CD), and services like EC2, S3, and Lambda.
- In‑depth understanding of server hardware, including thermal management, RAM/CPU/GPU optimization, and hardware scalability.
- Advanced networking skills, demonstrated by CompTIA Network+ certification or equivalent (e.g., Cisco CCNA).
- Hands‑on experience in cybersecurity, including firewalls, encryption, vulnerability scanning, and incident response.
- Hands‑on experience configuring and managing Mikro Tik Router
OS devices, including advanced CLI/terminal operations, scripting for automation (e.g., schedulers, netwatch, custom functions with variables/loops), and troubleshooting via console commands for firewall rules, QoS, VPNs, and interface management. - Familiarity with SOC 2 compliance frameworks; experience with Vanta or similar compliance management software is a strong plus.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing technical teams and projects.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and system management.
