About the Role:We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Safety Department on a full time basis.
Reporting to the Group Safety Manager you’ll be responsible for leading and implementing safety & health programs across the equipment - manufacturing workshop.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide day to day safety support to fabrication and manufacturing teams
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across all levels of the workshop.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and engagement.
- Implement and monitor compliance with company WHS policies, Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), and Job Hazard & Environmental Analysis (JHEAs).
- Conduct random safety inspections of workshop areas including contractors working in Hofmann sites.
- Support internal and external WHS audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Lead Job Safety and Environmental Analyses (JSEA), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and hazard identification.
- Manage incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and actions completed.
- Oversee risk assessments for new equipment, processes, and materials.
- Advise on machine guarding, isolation, hazardous substances, and confined space entry.
- Support internal and external HSE audits and implement corrective actions to address findings.

- Appropriate WHS Qualifications – Diploma or higher in Work Health and Safety (BSB
51319 or equivalent). - Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (desirable).
- Proven experience in heavy manufacturing, engineering or fabrication workshop.
- Strong understanding of fabrication hazards (welding, grinding, cutting and lifting plant operations).
- Strong knowledge of the WHS Act 2020 and associated regulations.
- Experience with ISO 45001 management systems.
- Proficiency in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety auditing.
- ICAM or TapRooT investigation training (desirable).
- High Risk work licences (desirable).
- Ability to work closely with supervisors and frontline teams.
