The Waste Treatment Manager is responsible for designing and optimizing safe and efficient waste treatment strategies for a multitude of solid and liquids waste streams throughout Crystal-Cleans network of hazardous and non-hazardous treatment systems. This role involves technical analysis, process optimization and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective waste treatment solutions. This position would be responsible for coordinating, and executing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements are met.

This role also requires oversight of Crystal-Cleans laboratories to ensure required QA/QC procedures are developed and followed throughout the organization. The Waste Treatment Manager would lead, support and collaborate with site chemists and personnel throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Design, evaluate, select and optimize wastewater treatment processes, including chemical and physical treatment systems consistent with influent chemistry, effluent limits and LDR requirements.
  • Develop process flow to ensure safe and efficient waste treatment strategies.
  • Evaluate and specify treatment equipment, chemicals and technologies.
  • Support capital improvement projects from concept through construction and commissioning as it relates to waste treatment programs.
  • Oversee team in support of project execution.
  • Monitor plant performance and advance operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of treatment issues.
  • Track and report project status, including progress, costs, and potential risks, to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Provide on-site coordination and support for field teams as it relates to treatment recipes and strategies.
  • Ensure projects comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support hiring and training/development of local staff that will operate the wastewater system.
  • Develop SOPs to ensure consistency of practices and adherence to strict performance standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations staff as needed.
  • Support organization and oversight of 3rd party labs to ensure data objectives are met consistent with company and client expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in wastewater treatment engineering, plant operations and process design.
  • Strong chemistry background and ability to solve complex wastewater projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and cost controls.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • A master’s degree would be a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in commercial wastewater treatment systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing treatment strategies.

Salary and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000, and includes benefits such as the following:
