Position Summary

The High School Teacher at Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas is responsible for fostering an academically rigorous, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for students in grades 8–12. The teacher will plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with Nevada Academic Content Standards and CASLV’s college-preparatory mission, while preparing students for postsecondary success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons in assigned content area(s).
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs/504s, ELLs, and advanced learners.
  • Utilize assessments and student data to inform instruction and support student growth.
  • Foster a classroom culture of high academic expectations, mutual respect, and personal responsibility.
  • Incorporate technology, real-world applications, and project-based learning when appropriate.
  • Support students’ social-emotional development and academic advising needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and communication with families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular integration and professional development.
  • Participate in school events, advisory, clubs, and other extracurricular responsibilities as needed.
  • Uphold and model the mission, values, and policies of CASLV.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a content-related field.
  • Valid Nevada secondary teaching license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Strong knowledge of subject matter and curriculum standards.

Preferred:

  • Two or more years of successful high school teaching experience.
  • Experience in charter, STEM-focused, or college-preparatory environments.
  • Demonstrated skill in using educational technology and student data platforms.
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency is a plus.

Work Environment

This is an in-person role on a CASLV school campus. The work environment is a traditional high school classroom, focused on subject-specific instruction. High school teachers work with teenagers in a more academically focused and independent learning environment.

This position requires:

  • Sustained periods of standing and speaking during instruction.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Use of computers, projectors, and digital learning platforms.
  • Managing classroom routines while promoting respectful and mature student engagement.
