Overview

The Training Specialist, assigned to the Office of the Military STARBASE Program, is responsible for implementing and instructing all STARBASE curriculum and lessons. The position performs instructional duties in a manner that inspires students and fosters engaging, memorable, and positive learning experiences.

This role works closely with a Teaching Assistant to ensure effective classroom delivery and program execution and reports directly to the Deputy Director.

• Bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis in science and mathematics.
• Valid Nevada teaching license.
• Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Windows- and Mac-based systems, and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and software.
• Dynamic communication skills and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and adjusting to changing priorities.
• A professional, positive approach to instruction with effective classroom management skills that foster an engaging, inclusive learning environment and adaptability to the needs of diverse student groups and individual learners.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Minimum of three years of elementary education experience preferred.

• The position requires the ability to deliver instruction across English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science at the elementary level, applying established teaching practices and curriculum standards.
• The role draws upon formal training in education, appropriate licensure, and prior elementary classroom experience to support effective student learning outcomes.
