Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

We are looking for a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to join a dynamic Walmart retail team. Your role will support and oversee repair within Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR.
• 18 years or older with a high‑school diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and hand, digital, and power tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive and document repair work orders.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test equipment and fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training for safe operation of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 – $45.00, with potential bonuses and premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
