Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for coordinating the accurate, timely, and safe movement of materials and finished goods in and out of the facility. This role supports daily operations by scheduling inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and working closely with production, logistics partners, and internal teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate outbound shipments to customers and other facilities
  • Prepare and verify shipping documents (BOLs, packing slips, labels)
  • Schedule carriers and confirm pickup and delivery times
  • Ensure shipments meet quality, quantity, and safety requirements
  • Communicate shipment status and resolve shipping issues
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies
  • Match deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Enter receipts into inventory and ERP systems
  • Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation
  • Support cycle counts and inventory audits
  • Coordinate with production, materials, and warehouse teams
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and company procedures
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required, additional education a plus
  • 2+ years of shipping, receiving, or logistics experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, shipping software, and basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Physical and Work Environment Demands
  • Work is mostly performed in a climate‑controlled setting
  • Could be exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull moderate weights as required for shipping and receiving tasks
  • Sitting, walking, and/or bending for extended periods as required
