Production Associate I – Disassembly, Cleaning & Inspection (1st Shift)
Job SummaryThe Production Associate I supports manufacturing operations by safely operating production equipment and assisting with the disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of high-horsepower diesel engines. This role works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with limited supervision and follows established quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Employees rotate through multiple stages of the process, including engine teardown, component cleaning, and parts inspection, to prepare materials for the next phase of production.
Key ResponsibilitiesHealth, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Stop work and immediately report unsafe conditions or major injury hazards
- Report all work‑related injuries, illnesses, incidents, and hazards
- Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and regulations
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Promote a safe, team-oriented work environment
- Correct hazards within scope of responsibility
- Minimize environmental impact related to job duties
- Participate in required safety and HSE training
- Follow standard work instructions, process documentation, and quality procedures
- Support quality systems such as SPC, poka‑yoke, and visual standards
- Perform inspections and identify non-conforming materials
- Raise quality concerns to reduce defects, rework, and cost
- Achieve production goals and meet required cycle times
- Perform engine disassembly, cleaning, and inspection tasks
- Maintain clean, organized work areas through routine housekeeping
- Perform basic operator care and equipment cleaning
- Remain flexible and assist with additional tasks as needed
- Work with team members, skilled trades, and support staff to identify equipment issues
- Communicate effectively with production teams and support departments
- Complete required training and development activities
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and efficiency
- Mechanical aptitude and hands‑on tool experience
- Automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work in a production-oriented environment
- Accountability and reliability
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to comply with applicable export control or regulatory requirements
- Focus on teardown of 60L and 78L diesel engines
- Use of hand tools, power tools, and cranes to handle heavy components
