Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Overview

Hydro Aluminum Metals is a global family of 35,000 people that extracts, produces, shapes, and reuses the world's most flexible and sustainable metal into infinite innovations and applications. Hydro’s aluminum remelting facility in Henderson, KY produces over 90,000 metric tons of metal annually. This role supports daily operations by scheduling inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and working closely with production, logistics partners, and internal teams.

• Coordinate outbound shipments to customers and other facilities
• Prepare and verify shipping documents (BOLs, packing slips, labels)
• Schedule carriers and confirm pickup and delivery times
• Ensure shipments meet quality, quantity, and safety requirements
• Communicate shipment status and resolve shipping issues
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies
• Match deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips
• Enter receipts into inventory and ERP systems
• Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies promptly
• Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation
• Support cycle counts and inventory audits
• Coordinate with production, materials, and warehouse teams
• Follow all safety, environmental, and company procedures

• High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus
• 2+ years of shipping, receiving, or logistics experience preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• Familiarity with ERP systems, shipping software, and basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

• Work is mostly performed in a climate‑controlled setting
• Possible exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
• Ability to lift, push, and pull moderate weights as required for shipping and receiving tasks
• Ability to sit, walk, bend, and stand for extended periods as required
