Position Description
As an Applebee's® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of the day-to-day operations at the restaurant. You bear responsibility for creating a passionate experience for both guests and staff every day. The role requires strong leadership, excellent problem‑solving skills, the ability to handle stress, and a genuine enjoyment of the work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit.
- Cultivates a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs.
- Responds immediately to verbal guest complaints and corrects them.
- Prioritizes guest contact by completing table visits as per standards.
- Maintains departmental inventory levels.
- Ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards, performing line checks.
- Schedules employees effectively to meet sales demands.
- Maintains effective safety and security programs.
- Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
- Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
- Promotes quality recruitment and referrals for potential team members and management candidates.
- Promotes Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers.
- Helps maintain a trained staff through orientation, training sessions, meetings, and implementation of company policy and training systems.
- Participates in employee development via One‑on‑One and performance documentation, contributes to written evaluations.
- Provides fair feedback, monitors performance, and works on employee development.
- Documents situations that may lead to disciplinary or corrective action.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
- Controls cost in assigned department.
- Complies with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request.
- Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork.
- Enforces sanitation standards that meet or exceed health department and company standards.
- Serves as a role model for managers and employees.
- Develops proficiency with all store related technology.
- Willing and able to work in all positions and assist as needed; includes cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending, etc.
- Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.
- At least 2–3 years restaurant management experience.
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Salary range: $20.98 to $27.27 per hour (approximately $60,000 to $78,000 annually based on a 50‑hour week). Potential for monthly bonus as applicable by location.

Physical Standards- Work various shifts, including weekends.
- Stand and move for up to ten (10) hours.
- Safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Read, write and use small tools and equipment with finger and hand dexterity.
