Dietary Cook

Summary:

By adhering to The Village, Management Staff Philosophy, Vision and Mission Statements, the cook will be responsible for daily preparation of meals, AM or PM. Cook may also be assigned AM prep duties.

• Follows recipes and spreadsheets to prepare regular, therapeutic and mechanically altered diets. Ensure food production meets required time schedules.
• Assists in cleaning functions in order to keep work area clean and maintained in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Ensures that food is stored, marked, dated and covered correctly following FIFO methods.
• Adheres to all facility rules and regulations to promote a safe environment for residents and staff. Insures that kitchen is maintained in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Performs all duties in keeping with the mission statement of The Village and Freedom Properties.
• Other duties, assignments and/or special projects as required may be assigned that relate to the service of our residents to daily dietary department operations.

• Dietary Experience as a cook required.
• Experience preferred in a skilled nursing, assisted living facility or hospital environment required.
• Food handlers' card must be obtained 1 week after employment.

Pay Scale - $19.10 - $21.00 Based on Experience
