Assistant General Manager

Salary: $45,000 - $90,000 per year
SummaryThe Assistant General Manager is responsible for creating a culture that reflects company values, managing daily restaurant operations, overseeing inventory and ordering, optimizing profits, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The role reports to the Restaurant General Manager.
Primary Responsibilities- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales.
- Ensure financial and personnel/payroll administrative duties are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by enforcing sanitation standards and legal regulations.
- Ensure consistent high-quality food preparation and service.
- Maintain restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and an overall professional image.
- Accurately inventory and control cost of goods, supervise portion control to minimize waste.
- Estimate food needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule deliveries.
- Be Serv Safe certified and uphold all Serv Safe guidelines.
- Complete weekly Food Excellence Self-Assessment.
- Respond to guest complaints and take appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
- Ensure a safe working environment for employees and guests, complete accident reports promptly when necessary.
- Manage shifts, including daily decision making, scheduling, and planning while maintaining standards.
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service.
- Ensure all employees complete required training.
- Communicate job expectations, monitor performance, and enforce policies and procedures.
- Provide ongoing feedback and establish performance expectations for employees.
- Prepare schedules to ensure full staffing for all shifts.
- Develop crew members to become Shift Leaders and develop Shift Leaders to become Assistant Managers.
- Maintain compliance with all state, local, and federal regulations, and perform loss prevention audits.
- Uphold company purpose and values.
- Keep the Restaurant General Manager informed of all significant issues and suggest corrective actions.
- Complete responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain a cooperative workplace to foster maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
- Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership and performing additional duties as required.
