Technical Sales Manager

Polypipe Building Services is looking for a Technical Sales Manager to focus on selling our full range of engineering solutions, including above‑ground drainage, water supply systems, advantage fabrication systems, and other building services products to commercial clients.

This position is project‑focused, with responsibilities for the entire sales cycle from cradle to grave. You will work closely with M&E engineers, contractors, and local authorities to deliver tailored solutions.

The role covers the postcodes: NN, MK, SG, LU, HP, WD, HA, N, NW, W. Candidates must reside within this patch.

• Achieve conversion rates on selected projects through a cradle‑to‑grave sales approach in collaboration with the sales team.
• Communicate with key stakeholders on new projects, documenting progress in the CRM.
• Maintain forward diary planning to optimise sales activities.
• Manage contractor terms and agreements, reviewing costs and justifying levels.
• Provide technical dialogue and information to customers.
• Handle client objections and deliver excellent customer service.
• Complete weekly CRM reporting.
• Identify incremental growth opportunities.
• Represent the business at social and brand awareness events.
• Assist with site, technical training, and supply of projects, supporting operational departments.

• Excellent knowledge of the M&E marketplace.
• Proven track record on large‑scale commercial projects and ability to engage in technical dialogue at all levels.
• Capability to present to groups.
• Ability to quickly become a technical specialist in PBS products and services.
• Understanding of project stages and commercial construction decision processes.
• Driving licence – essential for travel.
