Overview

Plant Equipment Technician / Gloucester. Salary:
Starting salary up to £42,000 per annum, pending experience, plus performance-related bonus providing a £50,000 on-target earnings.

Hours:

40-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Benefits:

Our client, a franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, is looking to hire a fully qualified and experienced Plant Equipment Technician for their busy Gloucester dealership.

Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a friendly team, as a Plant Equipment Technician, your key objectives will include:

• Performing major and minor repairs to plant machinery.
• Carrying out PDI works and attachment set-up on plant machinery.
• Mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
• Performing regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hours and schedules.
• Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and ensuring cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
• Working with other departments, including the sales team, to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers.
• Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for machines/vehicles.
• Maintaining records of machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
• Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.
• Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees as required.
• Carrying out your role with quality, compliance and health and safety always at the forefront of what you do.

• IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in either Plant Equipment or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, and ideally at least 1 to 2 years of practical experience post qualification.
• You will need to be a committed individual and a good team player.
• You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team.
• Applicants will need to have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
