A day in the life of a Murphy Piling Quantity Surveyor

Aid in the internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
Prepare Valuations/Applications for Payment with full documentation in accordance with the contract.
Control of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant documentation.
Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring, and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements.
Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
Drafting of subcontracts including professional services.
Daily coordination calls with the operations team to review project progress and identify any issues requiring escalation, supporting effective reporting in the fast‑paced environment of piling projects.

HND/Degree qualification
Proven experience within a Commercial role i.e., Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, or a similar role
Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract, NEC and JCT  
Managing the commercial aspects of multiple piling projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong multitasking abilities and the agility to respond quickly to changing project requirements
