Controls Engineer, EMEA Controls – Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Controls Engineer to join the EMEA Controls team and help implement and maintain building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) across AWS data centers.
Key responsibilities:
- Deploy, maintain, and upgrade BMS/EPMS in leased and colocation AWS data centers.
- Coordinate with AWS Data Center Engineering Operations teams for new builds and upgrades.
- Develop control panel BOMs and ISA data sheets for temperature, level, flow, pressure transmitters and valves.
- Design drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and logic diagrams (PLC, DCS).
- Prepare cable routing plans and schedules.
- Inspect, test, and commission facility systems.
- Provide technical assistance to internal customers and coordinate project work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in vendor management and data center operations.
- Experience with building automation systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring (EPMS) in critical environments.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically about building controls and automation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- 3+ years of on‑site experience with industrial controls in data centers or similar critical environments.
- Experience with construction or project management and vendor management (RFP, bid, change order).
- Experience with control platform vendors such as Honeywell (Tridium Niagara, Building Controls/Trend), Schneider Electric (Power Logic/Struxureware), Distech, Inductive Automation (Ignition).
- 8+ years of controls experience in lieu of a degree.
Regular travel between multiple facilities within the Thames Valley is required. The candidate must be based within easy reach and comfortable with inter‑site movement.
