You will be based from the Hemel Hempstead office, working closely with a highly experienced hydrology and flood risk team while contributing to projects across the UK. The work spans major residential, commercial and infrastructure developments, delivering flood risk assessments, drainage strategies and sustainable water management solutions wherever clients require support, all within a flexible hybrid working structure.
The role
As a Senior Hydrologist or Flood Modeller, you will take technical ownership of hydrology and flood risk inputs while supporting team growth and project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing Flood Risk Assessments, EIA chapters and drainage strategies
Reviewing and contributing to concept and detailed drainage designs
Applying hydrological and hydraulic modelling tools to support flood modelling
Advising on flood risk policy, water quality and SuDS design
Managing project programmes, budgets and client relationships
Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior staff
Keeping up to date with legislation, standards and best practice
About you
This role suits an experienced Senior Hydrologist or Flood Modeller ready to lead.
You will ideally have:
A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or similar
Chartered status or progression toward it
Strong experience delivering FRAs, SuDS and hydrology reports
Proficiency with Flood Modeller, TuFLOW, HEC-RAS, FEH or WINFAP-FEH
Excellent report writing, communication and leadership skills
