Assistant Management Accountant – Helston - Circa: £30,000

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively re-engaged by one of our longstanding clients, a highly successful and rapidly expanding services business consisting several group entities operating across a broad range of sectors. They currently seek to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team, a permanent, full-time position to be based at the company’s headquarters set in a beautiful location close to Helston.

This is a broad role which will play a key part in supporting the finance function, reporting into an experienced and friendly Finance Manager. The opportunity would be particularly well suited to a candidate that seeks to enhance their management accounting skills, ultimately taking overall responsibility for the production of high quality management information. Main duties of the role to include:

- Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts

- Assisting with all month end procedures to tight deadlines

- Ensure efficient accounts payable and receivable controls

- Bank/balance sheet reconciliations

- Creating invoices and dealing with any discrepancies and queries

- Monitoring the aged debtor

- Supporting the Finance Manager with various ad-hoc duties and tasks

- Work closely with colleagues outside of finance

What we’re looking for. Candidates will ideally be part/fully AAT qualified though applicants with relevant vocational experience who are keen to progress will be given equal consideration.

Good IT skills including an aptitude for picking up digital accounting platforms (Sage/Xero) is essential as will be the ability to work as part of a close-knit team. The role works within a busy function and the successful candidate will liaise with many internal and external stakeholders so good communication and team working skills are a prerequisite!
