This Opportunity
Seeking a full‑time Electrician Lead (Electrical Subamp) in support of Base Operations Services (BOS) and Mission Support Services (MSS) at Ascension Auxiliary Air Field (AAAF). Your Impact- Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, operates, and maintains electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment.
- Performs operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to telecommunications equipment and maintains the facility’s physical electrical distribution system in good repair.
- Electrical work experience includes installation in commercial and industrial categories.
- Electrician complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) 2008 for repairs and upgrades to existing construction; NEC 2011 and MIL standards apply for new construction and contract specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Computer skills and ability to operate various computer programs.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Valid driver’s license from home country, valid for 12 months from employment date.
- Valid passport from home country, valid for 12 months from employment date.
- Ability to obtain and maintain authorized entry onto U.S. military installations.
- Must meet U.S. Department of Defense medical requirements necessary to live and work at Ascension Island.

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Journeyman’s electrical license.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain host‑nation license.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in the electrical wiring industry, planning, laying out, and installing electrical distribution systems in accordance with NEC or British standards, under supervision of a qualifying electrician for a licensed contractor.
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment.
- Perform operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to telecommunications equipment and maintain the facility’s physical electrical distribution system in good repair.
- Compliance with NEC 2008 for repairs and upgrades, NEC 2011 and MIL standards for new construction and contract specifications.
- Capable of working in extreme weather conditions up to 120°F.
- Indoor/outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (hot, dry, duty, deserted with temperatures ranging 30°F in winter to 130°F in summer).
- Includes some industrial production conditions.
- Light work, lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently or constantly.
- May require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing or sitting, and working with potential exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- PPE required in some situations.
