Crane Operator
As a Crane Operator at Steed Industries, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of materials for our concrete construction projects. Your expertise will ensure that heavy materials are transported and placed accurately, contributing to the timely completion of high-quality projects. You'll work in a supportive environment that values teamwork and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation:
Safely operate cranes and related machinery to lift, move, and position materials and equipment on construction sites.
- Site Coordination:
Collaborate closely with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members to ensure proper load handling and placement.
- Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations, conducting thorough pre-operation inspections of equipment.
- Load Assessment:
Determine load weights and dimensions, ensuring equipment capacity is not exceeded, and maintaining stability during operations.
- Communication:
Use hand signals and radios to coordinate with ground crew and other operators, ensuring clear communication and safety.
- Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs to management.
- Documentation:
Maintain accurate logs of equipment use, load movements, and safety inspections.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid crane operator certification and a minimum of 2 years' experience operating cranes in construction settings.
- Strong knowledge of crane operations, safety procedures, and load management principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and commitment to workplace safety.
