This opportunity is made possible through Community Health Corps Montana (CHCM), an Ameri Corps program connecting service-minded individuals with organizations advancing health access and community wellness across the state.
YWCA Helena works to prevent homelessness and provide safe, supportive housing for women and children experiencing instability. Their programs include transitional housing, family advocacy, supervised visitation, Safe Exchange services, mental health and substance use treatment, health and wellness education, and resource navigation — all grounded in dignity, compassion, and restoring hope.
About the Ameri Corps ProjectYWCA Helena is seeking one CHCM Ameri Corps member to strengthen community engagement, volunteer coordination, and resident support services. This role helps YWCA Helena expand its reach, improve resident experience, and enhance the resources available to families transitioning toward stability.
Key Service Activities Community Engagement & Communications- Support the Development & Communications Director with outreach and awareness
- Assist in producing social posts, stories, and community updates
- Furnishing rooms for new residents
- Organizing food and clothing donations
- Supporting events and drives
- Help staff plan family events such as birthdays, recovery anniversaries, holidays, and celebrations of accomplishments
- Manage YWCA engagement information in Bloomerang, a nonprofit CRM
- Track participation, volunteer support, and outreach activities
- Support relevant trainings for program participants
- Assist with expanding resource navigation and community referrals
- Compassionate, grounded, and people-centered
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable coordinating volunteers and interacting with families
- Interested in housing stability, community health, or social services
- Approaches service with humility, steadiness, and reliability
- U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident
- At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation and successful completion of FBI/NSOPW/state background checks
- Full-time service (~40 hrs/week), January 12 – August 21, 2026
- Minimum of 1,200 total service hours; attendance at all required trainings and meetings
- Living allowance: $1,200 biweekly (pre-tax)
- Segal Ameri Corps Education Award: $5,176.50 upon successful completion

- Professional development in community engagement, data visualization, and project management
- Supportive cohort programming model that fosters connection among members across the state, plus ongoing mentorship from CHCM staff and host site supervisors.
