Performs various tasks along the MEKP packaging line to ensure bottles and cartons are filled, labeled, packaged, and handled safely and efficiently. Supports equipment setup, material loading, quality checks, and safe line operation within a safety‑sensitive environment.
Duties and Responsibilities Area of Responsibility 1:Packing Line Operations and Production Support
- Load bottle pallets into the depalletizer and ensure continuous bottle flow
- Load cartons into the carton machine to support uninterrupted packaging
- Monitor bottle filling, dye addition, capping, and lot code application
- Verify that lot numbers are applied correctly on bottles and cartons
- Load sleeves into the sleever and change out caps on the cap machine as needed
- Replace tape on the top taper and carton machine
- Transport products and packaging materials to and from packaging department via forklift
- Assist with equipment setup on the 4x8 and HP lines (with guidance from Packer
3) - Support safe, efficient packaging processes across multiple positions along the line
Training, Documentation and Compliance
- Train Packing Line Worker 1 employees on required duties and correct operating procedures
- Enter lot numbers into bottle and carton printers accurately
- Follow all MEKP handling and line operation procedures
- Maintain awareness of equipment status and communicate issues promptly
- Perform job‑related tasks as assigned by supervision
- Work in a safety‑sensitive position requiring strict adherence to all safety rules.
- Maintain a proactive safety mindset and participate in all required safety activities.
- Navigate congested production areas safely, including climbing stairs and working around equipment.
- Ensure bottles and cartons meet quality requirements, including accurate filling, dye addition, and capping.
- Verify lot coding accuracy and consistency throughout the packaging process.
- Assist in maintaining clean, organized, quality‑compliant packing line areas.
- Support ISO 9001, 14001, and Responsible Care programs
- Chemical handling experience.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to distinguish colors for dye and lot code verification.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Proficiency with tablet‑controlled equipment.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to climb stairs and move safely through congested areas.
- Active participation in all safety activities and full compliance with safety rules.
Ability to perform general line worker tasks across the packaging line. - Forklift experience or forklift certification.
- Experience with automated packaging equipment.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing environments.
- Work is performed in a production and packaging area with exposure to chemicals and mechanical equipment.
- Physical activity includes lifting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and maneuvering through busy areas.
