Technical Clinical Laboratory Coordinator – Point of Care (Evenings, Full-Time)

Position Overview:
The Technical Clinical Laboratory Coordinator – Point of Care provides operational leadership for Point of Care Testing (POCT) and Laboratory Informatics during evening shifts. This role partners closely with laboratory leadership, nursing, medical staff, and vendors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient POCT operations while supporting quality initiatives, staff training, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day POCT and laboratory informatics operations
Collaborate with laboratory, nursing, and medical staff to support safe, efficient patient care
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state/federal regulations
Support CQI/QA initiatives, process improvement, and departmental projects
Coordinate POCT inventory, equipment maintenance, calibration, and vendor relationships
Lead and support staff training, competency assessments, and onboarding
Serve as a subject matter expert and departmental liaison across clinical teams
Participate in budgeting, strategic planning, and departmental meetings
Provide on-call coverage as needed for critical patient care needs
Qualifications:
Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist in the State of Montana (required)
Minimum 5 years of experience as a generalist CLS in a hospital setting
Experience with POCT, laboratory informatics, and regulatory compliance
Meditech, CPOE, and LEAN experience preferred
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
