The New Account Representative will have extensive contact with the public, customers, and vendors and is responsible for opening deposit accounts and related banking services, as well as identifying and referring sales opportunities to the appropriate departments.
Duties and Responsibilities- New Account Openings:
Assist customers in opening new accounts while maintaining knowledge of all bank products in order to make recommendations based on customer needs/requests. - Educate customers on services/products available.
- Act promptly on customer requests, follow through on commitments and obligations, and ask follow-up questions to determine if customer needs and expectations are met.
- Provide assistance to customers in person and over the phone. Research and resolve customer inquiries while acting as the customer liaison between other departments. Follow up with customers to ensure that their needs have been met. Develop and maintain long-term relationships.
- Keep all information related to customers private and confidential.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, OFAC) as well as company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all OnCourse assignments are current and on time.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Participate in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities that support the mission and values of Valley Bank.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma.
- One year banking experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of customer service and delivery.
- Knowledge of Valley Bank products/services to effectively present appropriate solutions to customers.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Work quickly and accurately using various applications and systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
Physical DemandsTypical office environment with extensive keyboarding requirements and the ability to operate routine office equipment. Routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day.
What We OfferCompensation & Benefits: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. PTO accruals begin at .0745 per hour worked for part-time employees up to a maximum accrual of 240 hours per year for certain Full-Time employees. PTO accruals depend on position, status (Full time or Part time), and years of experience in accordance with our PTO policy. Most Full-Time employees are offered 6 paid holidays;
