Overview
HDR is seeking a Regional Transit Planning Practice Leader to lead our growing Transportation Planning Business Class. The role focuses on developing practice strategy, market opportunities, technical staff development, and client delivery.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with HDR’s Transit Planning Practice Leader to identify practice strategy and emerging markets.
- Coordinate regional market drivers and develop products to meet client needs.
- Present regional transit planning activities on regular Transit Planning Practice Group calls.
- Lead technical development of transit planning staff in all areas of transit planning.
- Identify market opportunities and develop winning pursuit strategies with Area Business Development Leaders.
- Identify and attract transit planning talent and work with leadership to retain staff.
- Serve as a project manager for major transit projects and deliver quality work on time.
- Represent HDR at state and regional professional organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline required.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant transit planning experience.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans related to team‑building, skills development, and/or business development.
- Master’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- Professional registration such as AICP, PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of transportation planning experience.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Understanding of transit planning principles.
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel.
- Solid business development skills and presentation skills.
- Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
United States – Bellevue, Washington (primary). Other locations include Washington (Pasco, Everett), Idaho (Coeur d'Alene, Boise), Montana (Butte, Kalispell, Bozeman, Missoula, Billings, Helena), Oregon (Bend, Portland, Salem, Ashland), Washington (Gig Harbor, Spokane, Olympia, Vancouver, Seattle).
ScheduleFull‑time, regular employee status.
